Welcome to the Global Integrity Alliance (GIA)

The Global Integrity Alliance (GIA) is an international group of individuals and organizations, launched at the World Ethics Forum in Oxford UK in April, 2006.  The GIA’s mission is to promote ethical, accountable and effective leadership by placing integrity at the center of efforts to improve human life.  Its vision is a world where:

  • Ethical leadership is the norm and good governance, just societies and effective development are the result;
  • People are optimistic for the future because they see high ethical standards in the political and economic decision making that affects their lives; and
  • Youth talk about making a difference, because now they see that they can.

In form, the GIA is:

  • A platform for individuals, communities, organizations, and States all over the world to share ideas and resources for action;
  • A broad-based alliance, focusing both on individual leaders and the networks that are necessary to support reform and change;
  • An approach for addressing problems of governance and integrity failures; and
  • A catalyst for change, publicly supporting projects that promote ethical and accountable behavior at the center of efforts to improve human life.
